Dr. Frank Iulianelli of Lake Orion Chiropractic
I just wish I had known then what I know now.
Let me explain… I always knew that I wanted to be in healthcare. I also knew at a young age that there had to be another way to being healthy than by taking drugs everytime you are sick.
You see, when I was a kid, I was very sick. So much so that the doctors told my parents to take out a life insurance policy on me at age 4, in the thought that I would never get approved when I’m older (if I get to be older). I have more childhood memories of being in various hospitals than I do of summer vacations.
Then one day for no apparent reason, I got better. All the specialists couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t due to any drug or therapy I was undergoing because they had no treatment for what was wrong with me. I just got well. The doctors told my parents that my body healed itself. WHAT? After all that my body healed itself? That stuck with me my entire life. I needed to understand. Why? How?
My introduction to chiropractic care
It wasn’t until years later at Wayne State University in my “Pre-Med” courses that I realized my body did heal itself and there was a perfectly good explanation for it, not some miracle. I loved my courses on anatomy, physiology and neurology. All the pieces of the puzzle were right there just not put together in a way that made sense until one day when my mom recommended I go visit my cousin who was a Chiropractor. So, there I go to visit my cousin in his clinic to pick his brain about this “new” type of Doctor called Chiropractor. After about an hour of watching him interact with his patients and see how excited he was to see each patient and they to see him, as if they were all long lost friends, I realized this was so different than the doctors I knew from childhood and the hospital I worked at while making my way through college. The doctors at this hospital were all very nice people but always watching the clock just waiting to get out of there. It seemed like they were over-worked and under-appreciated. That was not for me.
I liked what I saw at my cousin’s clinic. The patients actually enjoyed coming to see him and he in turn enjoyed each and every patient and was amazed when the receptionist told us that we were done for the day and it was time to go home. Where did the time go? It was so nice to see how much he loved what he did. I made my mind up. I was going to be a Chiropractor. You see, I not only saw an enjoyable career but also I learned on that day how Chiropractic works with the body to help it “heal itself”. I came full circle and could see the big picture.
Lake Orion Chiropractor : Education
I finished my pre-recs at WSU then went to Davenport, Iowa to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic. I was going to become a Chiropractor and help other peoples’ bodies heal themselves, just like mine did so many years ago.
It has been 19 years and counting since graduating from Palmer. Now I’m the one excited to see every patient come in my clinic. These aren’t just patients, they are friends. I look forward every day to going in to work to see who is going to stop by for an adjustment and bare witness to someone else’s recovery from some chronic pain or health problem. I get to help them get well without drugs or surgery. Just by one little adjustment to their spine. Then I get to share the story of how their body is going to heal itself. I’m blessed every day to see the lights turn on in patients eyes when the puzzle pieces come together and they finally see the big picture.
Dr. Frank Iulianelli : Up close and Personal
Chiropractic has given me and my family a great life. My wife Donna and my two children, Mason and Ava, are testimonials to what Chiropractic can do to help maintaining overall health. My children, like most children under Chiropractic care, have never taken any form of medication. They don’t even know what a baby aspirin or children’s Tylenol looks like. They have never had a shot of any kind. Does that mean they have never been sick? No, they have been sick but their body fights it off and gets well on its own just the way it was designed to do. It’s been over 20 years since I have taken any form of medication. What a difference from the 4 year old boy that needed life insurance. Don’t get me wrong, we aren’t fanatics. We believe medicine has its place. We have just been able to stay healthy with proper diet and nutrition, exercise and on-going Chiropractic care.
Enough about me and my family…this web site is for you and your family! If you or a loved one has severe or chronic pain or health problems and has not responded to other forms of treatments call our office.
